Activities

A large number of activities are offered to complement the formal curriculum. Instrumental and individual music lessons are available as an extra from Year 1, although some exceptional children start before this. The range of instruments offered by the music department is extremely wide. The music teachers encourage the children to join an ensemble as soon as possible and there are performance opportunities if they wish.

Speech and Drama lessons are offered for small groups and often lead to LAMDA exams as well as performances in school. Ballet and tap lessons start in Nursery and are taken by a specialist dance teacher. We also offer football lessons from Nursery, led by professional coaches.

Activities are also available after the end of the school day. These run for an hour and are taken by teachers, teaching assistants or external tutors. They may include cookery, chess, art and craft, ICT, outdoor games, hand bells, cartoon club, rugby, skiing, model building, sketching, maths games, Eco Explorers, Little Gardeners, Young Adventurers, rounders and many more.
