Despite poor conditions, the annual U11/10 Football festival took place this week.  With ten schools and over 180 children taking part, it proved to be an exciting afternoon of football.  Although the conditions proved a leveller, Llandaff Church in Wales, Rhiwbeina Primary and Llanishen Fach showed that some great passing football could be played in challenging conditions.

With three levels of competition, both CSL teams made it through the group stages and lost narrowly to the eventual winners in each competition.  The Cup competition was retained by Rhiwbeina Primary after a pulsating final with Llandaff Church in Wales.  The Plate competition was a closely fought contest between Llanishen Fach and Ysgol Coed Y Gof, with Llanishen Fach just edging it to win.  The bowl final between Rougemont and Llandaff Church in Wales B proved to be the highlight.  After full time and extra time both teams were goalless, not for the way of attempts so it was resolved by penalties.  In a very tense finale, Rougemont just shaded the penalties 4-3.

A great afternoon and many thanks to all of teams who attended.
