Hockey is one of the three major sports the girls are involved with at the Cathedral School. We have teams from every year group, from Year 3 to 13, competing against independent and state schools locally and from further afield in weekly and Saturday fixtures. We participate in many tournaments and leagues at both county and national levels and a large number of our pupils represent Cardiff and the Vale schools.
Full commitment is expected at lunchtime, after-school practices and Saturday fixtures where focus is placed on the improvement of both skills and game understanding.
The School boasts a number of experienced and qualified hockey coaches fully committed to delivering enjoyable and structured sessions during lessons and after school activities. We train on two local astroturfs and indoor to develop pupils' skills and tactical awareness.
We have an excellent reputation in the local area for the quality of hockey played at the School. The results attained clearly reflect the standards achieved in this sport.
