African Drumming Workshop huge success

All pupils from the Nursery, Reception, Infants and Juniors enjoyed a superb African Drumming Workshop this week.

Mike Simpson from 'Inspire Works' led the boys and girls in a series of dynamic, hands-on drumming sessions, in which everyone was able to participate as part of a large percussion ensemble of up to 46 players at once! Playing on authentic Djembe drums, the pupils learned a variety of indigenous African rhythms, specialist playing techniques, and general musical coordination.

The workshop was a huge success and we hope to repeat the experience next year.
