The Sixth Form Options booklet which includes all of the A Level subjects available, along with an introduction to each subject from our inspirational teachers be found by clicking here
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at level 6 or grade B or above is required to study here. In the subject you wish to study, level 7 or grade A is preferred but not strictly required, with the exception of certain subjects (please see Sixth Form Options booklet below for further details). Of equal importance will be a report from Year 11 indicating a positive attitude to study and school life.
Students should choose subjects in which they are interested, which suit their ability and skills, and which support their aspirations for higher education and career choice.
We offer comprehensive guidance to all students during this process; both to those already at the Cathedral School and to those who hope to enter our sixth form from other schools. There are many opportunities for discussions with teachers, tutors and the careers advisor, Mr Andrew Vaughan and ISCO.
We host an Open Evening in the Michaelmas term, where prospective sixth formers can meet the Head, the Head of Sixth Form, tutors and students to discuss their subject choices, and career aspirations with a representative from ISCO.
