Scholars

There are a variety of ways in which our scholars enhance the academic life of the School. One is through membership of the Phoenix Society. This meets once per half term and is open to all, but primarily aimed at those holding academic scholarships. The purpose of it is to encourage our young people to question, reflect and respond on a variety of different topics from democracy to Spanish Art to the lessons we learn from a Victorian railway pin.

In the Sixth Form, the scholars and those who hold academic status, meet once a week to discuss matters beyond the normal examination specifications, simply for the sake of interest and to expand the mind.

All scholars are also expected to be leaders in the various academic societies, for example the STEM society, the Debating club or the Digital Leaders and to take a mentoring role to other pupils who may need their academic support.
