Extended Project Qualifications

Extended Project Qualifications

Every year, students at CSL have produced outstanding Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ) and our quality of results have been in the top ten of schools in the UK.
One highlight of the EPQ process is the presentation evening, when each student speaks to an invited audience about their project, and about the highs and lows they went through when writing and researching it. Invited guests have traditionally included relatives and friends as well as teachers, but of course this year that was not possible.

That wasn’t the only difference. In the past, children have benefited from the work of a professional company which coaches presentation skills to a range of UK and international organisations. This year, Ms Williams, Head of Drama, kindly stepped in to coach them in presenting and to help give them the confidence and support to deliver first-class presentations. The evenings didn’t disappoint!

Held over four days, topics ranged from Gender Stereotyping in Fairy Tales through to CRISPR Gene Modification, from Catholicism in Northern Ireland through to Colonising Mars, from the Human Rights Implications of Climate Change through to Artificial Intelligence in Surgery. All of the talks were videoed thanks to the kind assistance of the Communications Team, and parents will have links to view their child’s presentation in due course.
Well done to all of the students - this was a fantastic set of presentations and they should all be extremely proud of what they accomplished.
