The music department was thrilled to welcome Mr Dennis O'Neill, one of the world's leading operatic tenors to school this week.
Before giving a masterclass to the 21 girl choristers aged eight to 15, Mr O'Neill met with the Scholar's Society where he talked about his life as an opera singer.
Mr O'Neill has enjoyed a long association with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, where his many roles have included Rodolfo (La bohème), Duca (Rigoletto) and Radames (Aida), and retains a close relationship with his home based Welsh National Opera, for whom he appears in most seasons and serves as a board member.
He is deeply involved with the issue of education of the younger generation of Opera Singers, having given masterclasses throughout the world, specialising in the Italian repertoire and bel canto technique.
