The Cathedral School prides itself on its community action, never shying away from our civic responsibilities. In Cartref Residential Home, we are fortunate enough to have found another caring and like-minded institution with which to partner. Throughout the pandemic, our thoughts and prayers have been with the residents and staff of Cartref. Although maintaining a positive outlook, residents are understandably missing loved ones and finding the long periods of isolation difficult. As such, we naturally want to support them. This week, each Cartref resident will be receiving a personalised Christmas card from a Primary Form. With pupils working hard to personalise their cards by colourfully signing their names and drawing pictures, I am sure that the residents will be delighted to receive them.
Likewise, having thoroughly enjoyed their visit to last year’s Carol service. As a further surprise, some Primary pupils have also been working hard to produce a short Christmas film in which they work as a team, passing a present around different school settings before finally presenting it to Cartref at the end. As suggested by the film, I am pleased to say that there will be a few Christmas gifts magically working their way to Cartref. The Cathedral School wishes all of its friends at Cartref a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
