Following the Welsh Government's decision to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in the forthcoming May elections, we wanted to hear directly from our pupils what this change in legislation meant to them. It was pleasing to hear that they felt positively about this change and that it has encouraged them to reflect on what they want from their government. We are looking forward to being involved in Project Vote on Thursday 29th April, when our pupils aged 11-15 can vote following the same method as the official
Senedd election. The results from the parallel election will be shown on the Project Vote website (https://www.projectvote.wales/) after polls close on the day of the Senedd election, showing how each constituency and region voted, and how those votes would translate to seats in real life. We will also zoom in more closely on our school community and return the results for CSL with our own candidates representing the main political parties.
