Highlight of the Week

World Book Day 2024

Our school was awash with characters from the world of literature. From Matilda to Martians, princesses to pirates, pupils and parents had clearly gone all out for this World Book Day. Pupils spent the day working on fun filled activities, as the Primary School was transformed into a literary festival. The Infants enjoying reading cafes, creative writing, poetry, and a wonderful story telling workshop by visiting author Kate WIlliams. Junior pupils immersed themselves in literature; writing poetry, creating and illustrating characters, designing their own bookmarks and quizzing. Our oldest pupils were inspired with a wonderful creative writing workshop led by one of our parents and children’s author, Rebecca Clements. Today, Junior pupils have loved getting to know the stories of visiting author, Matt Beighton. Thank you to everyone for making it such an enjoyable World Book Day.
