Would-be writers inspired by performance poet

Due to popular demand, we welcomed performance poet and author Mr David Mason back to School this week to deliver a series of high energy and inspiring Poetry Performance Workshops.

David has taught drama, creative writing and poetry in more than one hundred schools since 2000, performing poetry to 20,000 children and selling 6000 books.

As part of our National Poetry Day activities, pupils from Nursery to Year 8 were treated to the workshops, before David met with parents at home time.

Mrs Pam Morgan, Librarian said: "Charismatic as ever, David entertained the children with extracts from his poems and books transporting them into worlds of chocolate biscuits, rap and learning to fly!  Any of the children who thought poetry was ‘boring' before his visit have certainly been converted!"
