Current Year 5 pupils are invited to a taster day for Year 7 Entry September 2026.
Discovery Day is an immersive taster experience for prospective pupils, offering a first-hand glimpse into life as a Senior at The Cathedral School, Llandaff. They’ll spend the day enjoying a variety of subject sessions, supported by current pupils and guided by our expert teachers. From academic challenges to creative exploration, your child will get a true feel for our dynamic and welcoming school community.
Your child can look forward to:
Throughout the day, our welcoming staff and friendly pupils will support your child, helping them feel at ease and excited about their next steps.
Snacks, lunch and all learning materials will be provided. Children should bring their own water bottle and wear trainers with their school uniform (if they have one) or smart clothes.
Each year we offer 25-30 places to external applicants from local primary and other independent schools wishing to join us in Year 7.
The process for application involves entrance tests, an informal interview with the Head, one of the Deputy Heads or one of the Housemaster/mistresses, and a reference from the child's current school indicating that he/she has a positive attitude to study and school life.
