Safeguarding

The Cathedral School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in our care. Our staff members undergo thorough child protection screening, including a criminal record check via the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). All staff and volunteers are expected to uphold the School’s Safeguarding Policy at all times. 

Safeguarding is taken very seriously, and we recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to protect and promote the wellbeing of every pupil. We endeavour to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment where children are respected, valued and listened to.

Child Safety 

Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility. If you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of any child in our School, please report this immediately to one of the Designated Safeguarding Persons (DSPs). 

If you believe a child is at immediate risk, please call 999 or contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 02920 536490 (Option 3), available Monday–Thursday, 08:30–17:00 and Friday, 08:30–16:30. Outside of these hours, please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 02920 788570 or by email at emergencydutyteam@cardiff.gov.uk.

If you are concerned about the conduct of a member of staff or volunteer, please contact the Head. If your concern relates to the Head, please contact the Custos (Chair of the Board of Governors).
