Charity Breakfast raises £661 for the Teenage Cancer Trust

Myself, the Teilo Tutor Team and all Teilovian pupils should like to thank all the parents, pupils and their families for their wonderful support for the Charity Breakfast held on Friday 12th February.  The kitchens opened at 5.30 am with Head Chef Jane Patterson (working for free) firing up the ovens in readiness for the feast which lay ahead.  Jane was soon joined by Lucy (on what should have been her day off) and the Catering Manager Nick Turner as they continued to prepare our breakfast.

When the refectory doors opened at 7.30 our Finance Manager Sharon was ready with her float as the donations generously began rolling in.  To continue the finance theme, Petra in the Finance Office donned her apron and helped with the serving of the Breakfasts from behind the counter.  By 7.40 the queues had already formed but it was great to see so many faces smiling and patiently looking forward to bangers, beans, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and tomatoes or for the less hungry, Danish pastries, cold meats and cheeses.  All this glorious food could be topped off with an orange or apple juice or a hot cup of coffee.  By 8.00 the queue was back to the main corridor as the real rush began.  By 8.40 the refectory was beginning to empty and Sharon was already on the case totalling your donations.  A few minutes later I received an email with the news that you had raised £661.30 for the Teenage Cancer Trust which is such a fantastic achievement and brings the total that Teilo has raised for the TCT to over £1200 since our first fundraiser at the House Choir Competition in October.

Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity in supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust - it is very much appreciated.  May I also thank all the Teilovians and their families for your continued support of your House.  I should also like to thank the Teilo prefects for their enthusiasm in supporting the event and for coming in when they would normally still be sleeping!
