Neurodiversity Celebration Week
21 March 2025
This week, the CSL community has embraced Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025, fostering awareness and appreciation of the many ways in which people think, learn and experience the world.
Assemblies across all sections of the School explored the importance of celebrating differences and supporting one another, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent. During tutor time, pupils reflected on their own strengths and considered how they can be allies to those facing challenges.
Senior pupils took part in interactive drop-in sessions at breaktimes, learning more about neurodivergence, including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. Many were fascinated to discover just how many well-known figures from all walks of life are neurodivergent, reinforcing the message that diversity in thinking is something to be celebrated.
While Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness, support for neurodivergent pupils at CSL extends far beyond a single week. At The Cathedral School, the abilities and achievements of all our pupils are valued, and our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Department plays a fully integrated role within the school.
We also host Neurodiversity Coffee Mornings on the first Friday of each half term, offering a welcoming space for parents to connect, hear from neurodivergent pupils, and speak with our ALN specialists about the support available.
Cardiff University is hosting a Discovery Academic Taster Day for neurodivergent young people who want to get an insight into the sorts of things you can study at university. For more information, please click
