This week brought us World Book Day and a host of red and white striped characters arriving at school! In an ironic twist of fate, 'Wally's and 'Wendas' were everywhere to be seen...but...Where is Mrs Sherwood?
In the Infants, the children engaged in Where’s Wally and Wenda activities throughout the day including the great search of all the teachers disguised as Wally or Wenda, a descriptive piece of writing about a Where’s Wally scene, and every child drawing themselves as Wally or Wenda.
In the Juniors, the day acted as a catalyst for our Junior Reading Challenge, where pupils will allow their reading to take them on a journey around the world. All pupils have been given their ‘Reading Passports’ and we all hope this initiative ‘takes off’!
It was a fabulous day and everyone had lots and lots of fun!
