This week the Choral Scholars were invited to take part in the 60th Anniversary celebrations of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The Girls performed a short recital on the Wales Millennium Centre's Glanfa Stage which was appreciated by the many visitors and dignitaries present. Eve H was commended for her outstanding solo singing.
The highlight of the day however, took place on the Jetty at Cardiff Bay. The girls performed two songs for the Earl of Wessex (in very challenging weather conditions!) before he embarked on the next stage of his tour. The Earl congratulated the Girls on their performance and spoke warmly of his appreciation of their musical contribution to the day. He was also interested to hear of the Head's Award at CSL, which many of the Choral Scholars have completed. The Girls were rewarded with hot chocolate to help recover from the inclement weather! They returned to CSL to sing Mozart's Spatzenemesse in the School Chapel at the Evening Mass, which was a most beautiful musical and spiritual occasion.
