With clear skies overhead, our Year 12 Geography students embarked on a two-day fieldwork expedition, bringing their AS course learning to life.
As part of their Changing Places module, students delved into the impacts of economic change and rebranding processes on two iconic locations: the UNESCO World Heritage site at Blaenavon and the Butetown area of Cardiff Bay. Armed with a wide array of fieldwork techniques, they gathered data, observed first-hand transformations, and connected theory with real-world examples.
The experience not only deepened their understanding of key geographical concepts but also showcased the dynamic relationship between people, places, and the economy in shaping these contrasting landscapes.
