Healthy eating on the agenda

Pupils from Years 3-9 have discovered the key to staying healthy this week and it's simple: fun, fitness and food.

Yesterday more than 350 pupils took part in an energetic workshop organised by the school's catering company, Chartwells.

The ‘Fun Fitness and Food' session, led by two of Chartwells' professional chefs, saw the pupils learn about the components of a balanced meal, as well as helping to make healthy soups with freshly cooked vegetables, which everyone got to try!

Darren Tinkler, a professional chef from Chartwells said: "Some children can lead a relatively immobile life but our session at the Cathedral School showed how much fun children can have while playing and exercising and how they can refuel their bodies in a healthy way, while enjoying the food they are eating at the same time.  All of the children got involved and had so much fun; hopefully this will mean that they'll stick to these healthy ways of living."
