Selected pupils from Years 10, 11 and 13 enjoyed a frosty visit to Iceland during the half term break.
It was a busy four-day trip packed with visits to world-famous sites, including the Gullfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, the Geysir Hot Spring Area and Þingvellir, where the pupils walked along the edge of the rift valley separating the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The highlight of the trip though, was the glacier walk on the Solheimajokull glacier, where students donned crampons to complete a three-hour trek across the ice.
Thank you to the staff who accompanied the trip and to all the wonderful pupils who made the trip such a success.
