Matilda Jr. The Musical

Our talented Senior pupils enchanted audiences with a spectacular run of Matilda Jr. The Musical.
Full of energetic musical numbers, sharp choreography and heartfelt performances, the production captured both the humour and poignancy of the tale. From Matilda’s quiet determination to Miss Trunchbull’s larger-than-life villainy, every character was brought vividly to life. Elsie M shone as Matilda, balancing charm and fierce intelligence with remarkable stage presence. Joe P was excellent as Miss Trunchbull, earning big laughs with his comic timing and larger-than-life swagger.
Equally memorable were Oli P’s hilarious turn as Mr Wormwood, the delightfully flamboyant performances of Gwen M-O and Maddie H as Mrs Wormwood, and Finn M’s comic brilliance as Bruce Bogtrotter - the cake scene was a true highlight! Katy S and Grace B brought genuine warmth and depth to Miss Honey, with Katy’s final performance marking the end of her time on the CSL stage after an incredible 14 productions. She will be sorely missed, as will band member Nathan C.
The large ensemble cast and backstage crew were equally impressive - their energy, teamwork and infectious spirit filling every scene with life and mischief. Special thanks go to our dedicated staff team: Mr Phil May, Mrs Ketti Davies, Mr Jared Gore and Mrs Cathryn Anwyl Williams.
From confident leads to supporting roles, every pupil played their part in creating a show that was polished, joyous and full of spirit. Congratulations to everyone involved!
