Musical Inspiration

This week, the Infant and Junior Sections were treated to a performance of ‘Hansel and Gretel’ by the Seren Wind Quintet. The five woodwind players acted the characters of Hansel, Gretel, Mother, Father and the Witch interspersed with entrancing arrangements of the music from Humperdinck’s opera ‘Hansel and Gretel’.  They also explained what to listen for in the music. Junior pupils also had an opportunity to try their choice of flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon or French horn.
