Primary Choirs Lunchtime Concert

Primary Choirs Lunchtime Concert
More than 100 children showcasing their joyful voices at the Primary Choirs Lunchtime Concert made for a special afternoon celebrating music in Llandaff Cathedral.

A light-hearted performance of Engine, Engine, accompanied by train whistles and dance moves choreographed by our Year 6 pupils, was a fun way to open the concert. This was followed by two songs from our newly formed Infant Choir, including Year 1 for the first time. They shone with their performance of a traditional Hindi song, accompanied by the wonderful timbres of the Cathedral organ and drums, and stomped their way through the Monster Stomp. Cantate and Cantemus both brought lyrical singing to their performances of A Spoonful of Sugar and For a Moment from Wonka, and our Eisteddfod Choir gave a polished performance of Pêl-droed, which they will also be performing at the regional Eisteddfod yr Urdd. The upbeat finale combined our Junior choirs who sang a catchy and jubilant Malaysian folk song, with only the drum as their accompaniment. A big well done to everyone who took part.
