REMEMBERING THE FALLEN

The Cathedral School honoured those past pupils killed in action in two world wars this Remembrance tide. On Sunday 9 November, the Headmaster, Head Boy and Head Girl represented the school, and Mr Gilbert Lloyd (Governor) represented the Old Llandavians, at a Requiem Eucharist for the Fallen in Llandaff Cathedral. Wreathes were laid at the school's memorials in the Cathedral during the service, at which the preacher was Canon Jeremy Davies, the Precentor of Salisbury Cathedral, who is himself an Old Llandavian and former Head Chorister of Llandaff.

On Tuesday 11 November, the school prefects accompanied the Headmaster and Deputy Headmaster at the war memorial on Cathedral Green in Llandaff, and were the first to lay wreaths in memory of the Old Llandavians and people of Llandaff Village killed in action. The whole school stood in silence for two minutes at 11am, the exact moment 90 years on from the end of the Great War. The last post was sounded in the Corral at school, as the Union Flag fluttered in the breeze of a bright and fresh November day.
