Senior 10 Leadership Training

06 June 2025
Senior 10 Leadership Training

Our newly appointed Senior 10 took part in their prefect training last Friday, spending the day in the beautiful surroundings of Insole Court.

Following a reflective whole school Eucharist, the group began their training in the Old Stables with a session on leadership led by the Head, Mrs Sherwood. They revisited the promises made during their commissioning service, explored what leadership looks like in practice, and reflected on the challenges that can arise when working with others. A particularly insightful part of the session focused on leadership styles, with many discovering their traits aligned most closely with dolphins or teddy bears - thoughtful, empathetic, and collaborative.

After a short break, the group met with senior staff to begin action planning for the year ahead. Discussions centred on how they would like to shape their roles, make a meaningful impact, and support the wider school community. The team’s energy, ambition and forward-thinking approach made for a productive and inspiring session.

In the afternoon, attention turned to the importance of peer support and mental health awareness. The Senior 10 explored how to be effective pupil mentors, learning about active listening, signposting, safeguarding and stress management. The training equipped them with practical skills and knowledge to support others with care and confidence.

The day concluded with a light-hearted (and blindfolded!) team-building activity focused on communication and trust.

We look forward to seeing the Senior 10 continue to grow in their roles and lead with purpose in the months ahead.
