Singing a Mass for the Conversion of St Paul is an honour for any choir. For the Choral Scholars the event was made even more special on Wednesday as they travelled to another Woodard School: Ardingly in West Sussex.
Here they sang music chosen and directed by the inspirational Robert Costin FRCO in the School's magical chapel. Ardingly and CSL choirs joined forces for Rheinberger's short but poignant setting of the Mass and Chilcott's Be Thou my Vision. The result was extremely moving - particularly Hannah R's tenderly-sung solo at the beginning of the Chilcott and then Alex Y's wonderful high notes - ringing out before a 600 strong congregation.
The Woodard Corporation's Senior Provost, Brendan Clover had also made the journey to Ardingly to see the choirs working together. It was a vision shared on many levels, and it was clear that both sets of girls learned much from each other.
