On the slopes

With the New Year only a few hours old, 48 pupils and six staff departed school to head for the mountains. After a short stopover in Salzburg it was time for boots on, jackets zipped and helmets fastened as all five ski groups took to the slopes.

Attracting skiers of all abilities, from complete novices to advanced downhill stars, everybody was able to develop their skills at a comfortable pace and enjoy themselves along the way!

This year saw the most snow encountered in Saalbach since the school's first visit there several years ago. With there already being a good covering on all slopes, the skiers enjoyed fresh snowfall of almost a metre throughout the week, which led to ski conditions as diverse as ice and powder.

Away from the skiing itself, the group managed to find the time to take in a local ice hockey match and spend an evening swimming, ice skating and bowling - though not all at the same time!
