Sporting Success

Pupils have been enjoying much sporting success throughout the Christmas holidays.

Congratulations to Archie T (Year 10) who won the U15 British Squash Championships 2022 in Birmingham last weekend. He only dropped one game in the whole tournament - a repeat of his success in the Gold event before Christmas.

Many congratulations to Lucy H (Year 12) for her selection into the Hockey Wales U18 girls squad. This achievement is very well deserved after a superb season for her club and school.

Many congratulations to Joe B (Year 13) who has formally accepted a Rugby scholarship to the University of Mary Washington to play for their team Mothers Rugby. Congratulations to Joe, a hard working player who has brought so much to rugby at CSL.

Well done also to Emilia J (Year 9) who has been selected for the Welsh Performance Foundations Swimming Squad for 2022. Over Christmas, Emilia also competed in the Welsh Winter Nationals, coming away with a Gold in the 400m Freestyle and Silver in the 800m Freestyle. Her times place Emilia first in Britain for her age in the 800m and second in Britain for the 400m.

A huge well done to Ben M (Year 8) who competed in the Welsh Winter Nationals competition over the holidays, achieving first in Wales in all seven of his events. For five of them, he finished second in the UK, and third for two events.

Amelie (Year 11) and Eloise R (Year 9) recently represented the Welsh Epee team that took the Silver in the Cadet (U17) Winton Cup. Eloise followed that up with as part of the Welsh Sabre team, who won the bronze!
