The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music

On Tuesday, we were delighted to once again welcome parents to the Cathedral for our Junior Ensembles and Choirs Concert.

Since the last Ensemble’s Concert in 2019, it has been a long journey for the Music Department to rebuild and restructure the many ensembles and choirs during the pandemic. With 95 children involved in the concert, it really does highlight how much the children have enjoyed and welcomed the opportunities to sing and play once again.

It was amazing to hear the Cathedral filled with melodic music performed to an excellent standard by pupils from Year 3 to 6. Camerata, Basson Ensemble, Junior Strings, Year 5 Percussion, Junior Guitar Ensemble, Recorderama, Cantate, Junior Flutes, Year 6 Percussion and Cantemus all absorbed the rapturous applause from the audience as they finished their pieces.

Our parents and grandparents left feeling very emotional (in a good way) about the afternoon feast of music. A big thank you to all the music department staff for all their hard work to make this event happen and to all our parents for your support!
