The U13 cricket team enjoyed a memorable trip to the IAPS National Finals at Stamford School in Linconshire, returning home with an outstanding third-place finish in the UK.
After travelling on Sunday evening, the boys arrived in excellent spirits and quickly bonded as a squad ahead of a challenging day of cricket.
In Monday's semi-final against Bedford School, CSL produced a superb all-round display. Outstanding bowling from Nathan V and the seam attack, supported by sharp fielding and a stumping from Tom M, helped restrict Bedford to 87 runs. Despite a strong start in reply from Nathan V and Verraj B, Bedford's disciplined bowling proved difficult to overcome, and CSL narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
The boys responded brilliantly in the third-place play-off against Chigwell School. Batting first, CSL posted an impressive 110, led by a composed half-century from Verraj B. The bowlers then took centre stage, with Nathan V claiming four wickets and Ralph Ki three, as Chigwell were dismissed for just 36.
The convincing victory secured third place nationally, an exceptional achievement for the team. Throughout the competition, the boys demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship, representing the School with great pride.
Congratulations to the whole team on a fantastic achievement and a place among the very best U13 cricket teams in the UK: Nathan V, Archie E, Ralph K, Benjamin B, Sree K, Tom M, Henry P, William S, Cameron M, Nalin S, Verraj B, Charlie E.
