Trip to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre

A level English Literature and Drama students had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Bard's birthplace, to visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for a day of exploring Hamlet, their set text.

A fascinating lecture about the way Shakespeare would consider staging began the day, followed by a very practical and engaging workshop run by a Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) actor and director, and an example of how the RSC actors rehearse their scenes.

Afterwards, they explored the town and watched an interesting interpretation of Hamlet, where the setting had moved from Denmark to the Titanic, which prompted a lot of spirited debate on the coach home.
