Year 7 Bonding Weekend

29 August 2025
Year 7 Bonding Weekend

Before the start of term, our new Year 7 pupils set off for their Bonding Weekend at Manor Adventure’s outdoor pursuits centre in Llanwrtyd Wells.

Accompanied by their new Heads of Houses, Year 7 Form Tutors and Father Gareth, they arrived at the activity centre just as the rain was clearing, and in time to catch the last of the summer sun. Pupils began a series of exciting outdoor activities, including raft building, paddle boarding and archery.

Following a successful first night, the weather on Saturday was unfortunately not so pleasant, though this did not dampen pupils’ enthusiasm. From abseiling and axe throwing to rifle shooting, they approached these new experiences with courage and good humour.

Throughout the weekend, it was a pleasure to see so many new friendships being formed and pupils being encouraged by their peers to try new things and step out of their comfort zone. Behaviour was excellent and, despite more rain on Sunday Morning, all pupils were up early for breakfast to make the most of their final morning of activities before heading home.

The Year 7 Bonding Weekend is an important part of the transition into Senior School, giving pupils the chance to build confidence, develop independence and form lasting connections that will support them throughout their time at CSL.
