We were proud to recently celebrate an exceptional milestone at Buckingham Palace, as our Year 13 pupils joined Gold Award recipients from across the UK for a special Duke of Edinburgh’s Award celebration.
The prestigious event recognised the dedication, resilience and commitment required to achieve the Gold Award - an accomplishment that reflects years of hard work, determination and personal growth. It was a truly fitting tribute to the efforts our pupils have invested throughout their DofE journey.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Mr Pritchard attended as a UK Ambassador for the Award. In his role, he was invited as a VIP guest, engaging with influential stakeholders and supporters who play a vital role in shaping the future of the programme. The day included opportunities to connect with notable figures such as Alex Jones, Dame Kelly Holmes and Alison Oliver MBE, as well as hosting guests including PureGym CEO Clive Chesser and Head of Communications Caroline Southwell during a tour of the Palace gardens.
Guests were welcomed in the Buckingham Palace reception, and the afternoon featured inspiring speeches from speakers including Sarah Davies MBE and David Seaman MBE, all highlighting the powerful impact of the Award.
Overall, it was a motivating and memorable day for both pupils and staff. The event not only celebrated achievement but also reinforced the importance of programmes like DofE in helping young people build character, develop resilience and embrace challenges - skills that shape both their personal and professional futures.
This was a proud moment for CSL, showcasing the positive and lasting impact of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
