Hitting the slopes in Sestriere

The 2019 trip to Sestriere in Italy departed early on New Year’s Day, and arrived in the resort just in time for dinner. A long day’s travel made for weary eyes but a warm Italian welcome and a rapid fitting service set a great precedent for the week. The first day of skiing saw a smiling team of instructors sat at the base of the beautiful Via Lattea mountains, who quickly sussed out the group and shot off onto the slopes.

The weather stayed beautifully sunny all week and the skiers progressed considerably, all staying remarkably injury free too. The après ski was thoroughly embraced by all of the pupils who enjoyed open-air swimming in a heated pool, a local pizzeria and crepe experience, plus ice skating at the local rink at the foot of the mountains. The town of Sestriere provided a beautiful location, and a warm and friendly environment that made the whole party feel welcome and keen to return!
