Life Sciences Challenge National Champions
08 October 2021
A team from Year 11 (Uma B, Gracie B, Louise G and Mihaly T) recently competed in the National finals of the Life Sciences Quiz organised by Cardiff University against Ysgol Penweddig, Aberystwyth.
The competition consisted of a range of very challenging rounds and questions, including some general science knowledge, a whole host of tricky chemistry calculations, a Pointless round, spelling with the Periodic table and a Scientific Pictionary.
Although CSL managed to pull ahead by a considerable margin for the first few rounds, Penweddig began to close the gap in the data analysis round, and both teams traded points evenly in the final rounds. Nevertheless, CSL just managed to remain ahead, leading to an exciting victory of 59 to 51, and retaining the School's title as National Champions in this very popular and highly contested competition.
