Performing Shakespeare Grand Final
Whittled down from more than 2,000 entrants, Elsie M joined 11 others at the English-Speaking Union Performing Shakespeare Competition.
Finalists enjoyed a tour of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Globe Theatre and a morning workshop before performing their chosen monologue or duologue to a packed audience, including family, teachers and peers tuning in via livestream.
Elsie gave a brilliant comedic performance of Lance’s monologue from The Two Gentlemen of Verona, bringing energy and humour to one of Shakespeare’s lesser-known characters. Although the top prize was awarded to a monologue from Julius Caesar, Elsie was a fantastic ambassador for the CSL and has inspired others to take part next year!
