Reunion Evensong Celebrates Chorister Tradition

On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome former choristers back for our annual Reunion Evensong in the Cathedral.

Bringing together boy and girl choristers from across the generations, the reunion provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, share memories and celebrate the enduring musical tradition here in Llandaff.

The afternoon was filled with conversation, laughter and nostalgia as the former choristers reflected on their time in the choir and the lasting impact that singing at the Cathedral has had on their lives.

A particular highlight was the opportunity for former choristers to sing together once again, creating a memorable occasion that showcased the strong sense of community and lifelong connection fostered through the Cathedral choir.

Clare Sherwood, Head, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome so many former boy and girl choristers back to the Cathedral for this special reunion. Events such as these are a wonderful reminder of the lifelong friendships, shared experiences and deep sense of belonging that our musical tradition inspires."

Stephen Moore, Director of Music at the Cathedral, added: “The chorister programme has long played a central role in the life of the Cathedral, and it was fantastic to see so many former choristers return, including those who have only recently left the choir. It was truly special to hear voices from across the generations singing together once again. Building on the success of the past two years, we are already looking forward to welcoming former choristers back again next year and continuing to grow this special tradition.”
