Last Saturday saw the start of our fundraising for Kenya, with pupils from the Senior Section helping shoppers to pack their bags at Tesco Extra and Marks and Spencer in Cardiff. And on Monday, the whole school was involved in activities including sponsored walks to Castell Coch and Cardiff Castle for the Seniors and Juniors and obstacle courses and a walk on the Bishop's Field for the Infant Section.
This year all Woodard schools in the UK are joining together in a special project to mark the 200th anniversary of birth of their founder, Nathaniel Woodard. The money raised will create a brand new secondary school in Kenya, to further the education and life chances of a group of Kenyan children.
With money still to be collected, we have already exceeded our predicted figure, with the current total standing at £14,196.
Mr Stephen Morris, Headmaster said: "We are absolutely delighted to have raised so much money for the Kenya Appeal. Parents, pupils and staff have really got behind this initiative and we are very pleased to have played our part in what will be an extremely valuable resource for the people of Kenya."
