Track record for excellence continues at The Cathedral School

The Cathedral School continues its track record for outstanding results at A Level, with its students achieving 75% of all grades at A*-A and 96% at A*-B.

The most common grade was A* with almost half of students exceeding their predicted A Level grades and 96% of university applicants gaining a place at their first-choice university. Once again, the results are very strong across a wide range of subjects with 16 departments achieving exclusively A*-B grades.

Among those achieving the highest possible results, Louise G, will read Law at Christ Church, Oxford and Ambalika R will study Medicine at Corpus Christi, Cambridge. On receiving her results, Louise, who is a music scholar and member of the successful team which came third in this year’s Young Citizens Mock Trial competition said: “I am really delighted with my results, and I want to say thank you to all my teachers because I couldn’t have done it without them. It was a really enjoyable A Level course, although I’m glad it’s over now and I’m looking forward to Oxford.”

Ambalika, who alongside her studies is a talented dancer, added: “I was really excited to receive my results this morning and I’m so grateful to the School and all of the teachers for helping me achieve such high grades. I’m really looking forward to starting my next chapter in Cambridge.”
