Year 12 Geographers Explore the Glamorgan Coast

Year 12 Geography students have recently returned from a successful two-day field trip to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, where they put classroom learning into practice as part of their A Level studies. 

The visit provided hands-on experience of investigating coastal processes and landforms, with students collecting primary data to examine sand dune succession and how coastlines change over time. Using a range of fieldwork techniques, they gathered evidence that will now form the basis of further analysis in lessons and support their preparation for examinations and the Non-Examined Assessment (NEA). 

The trip was a valuable opportunity to develop geographical enquiry skills in a real-world setting, and students demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment throughout. The visit was a great success and highlighted the benefits of fieldwork in bringing Geography beyond the classroom.
