The potential horrors of the oncoming weather could not dampen the spirit of the new batch of Year 7 pupils prior to departure on Thursday 4 September 2008. There was a buzz amongst the pupils that was to last throughout the entire trip.
The first day involved a programme of quad biking, paintballing and climbing. The Year 7s relished the opportunity to compete with and against the staff in these activities. This was most evident observing the Rambo-esque exploits of Mr Earnshaw during the paintballing scenarios and the Spiderman-like skills demonstrated by Mr Moon. A trip to the MacArthur Glen eateries and a film ended an action-packed, fun-filled day.
The second day started with the celebration of the birthdays of two boys, Theo and Toby. Following the festivities was a trip to the beach to attempt surfing and surf kayaking. As difficult as these activities are to the novice, nearly all pupils managed to ride in on some pretty radical waves.
Probably the most enjoyable and satisfying aspect of the entire trip were the comments directed towards the Cathedral School thanks to the representatives on this particular trip. The pupils were assets to the School and their parents. Well done All.
