1st XV Rugby v Wycliffe

1st XV Rugby v Wycliffe

Our 1st XV rugby team produced an excellent all-round performance to record a 38–19 victory over Wycliffe College in an evening fixture at Cardiff Arms Park.

From the opening stages, the team showed strong intent in both attack and defence, moving the ball well and supporting one another effectively across the pitch. The forwards worked tirelessly against a larger opposition pack, matching them with commitment and physicality, while the pace of the game suited CSL’s strengths. Early tries from Jack F and Fin F rewarded this positive start.

In the backs, combinations worked well throughout, with Jack D directing play from fly-half and Sam C and Josh G linking effectively in midfield. Josh finished a well-constructed move to add to CSL’s tally as the team continued to apply pressure. Wycliffe responded with scores of their own, but CSL remained composed and disciplined, even during a period with a player in the sin bin. Henry R powered over in the second half, before Cameron H added his second try of the match, along with the conversion, to secure the result.

A thoroughly deserved win and an encouraging performance from the whole squad.
