A National Service for VE Day

Llandaff Cathedral hosted a National Service for Wales to mark the eve of the 80th anniversary of VE day - the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The Cathedral was packed with dignitaries, including the First Minister of Wales Eluned Morgan, Bishops from across Wales and Veterans of World War II.

The Cathedral Choir, including 32 of our choristers, sang music including Eleanor Daley’s beautiful piece In Remembrance and Will Todd’s uplifting Call of Wisdom during the service. A particular highlight was the first hymn, which was accompanied by the full might of the Cathedral Organ along with fanfares from the Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh.

The choristers are commended for taking in their stride such an important service and for their excellent performance whilst representing Llandaff Cathedral and the School on the national stage.
