At Prize Giving on Monday 12 July (Junior Section) and Tuesday 13 July (Senior Section), the Custos (Chairman of Governors) announced to parents the Governors' long-awaited strategy for the expansion of the school to Sixth Form.
The Cathedral School grew from being a preparatory school up to GCSE in 2001, and has consistently been placed as one of the top schools not only in Wales but the UK for academic results at GCSE level. The Governors now intend to complete its expansion by introducing a sixth form for the first time in its history, in response to enormous demand from parents and pupils.
The Custos' announcement was reinforced in a letter sent to all parents: click here to see a copy.
The strategy will include not only a provision of a sixth form, but also of a new Infant School as part of an ambitious multi-million pound buildings programme.
