On Wednesday evening, we were delighted to host our fifth Aspire To... event focusing on careers in STEM. We welcomed 27 professionals from areas ranging from neuroscience, planetary seismology, financial crime management, terrestrial and marine ecology, elite performance and sport science, civil, chemical, and structural engineering, microbiology and computer programming, giving our Year 10 to 13 students and their parents valuable insights into the incredible range of careers possible within the world of STEM along with an ideal networking opportunity. It was lovely to welcome back OL Poppy Cridland (2012-2019), who shared her valuable expertise and experiences as a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer.
Our Aspire To… programme aims to develop ideas and provide information on a wide range of vocational areas, including Business and Finance, Law and IT, Engineering, Biomedical, Healthcare and Sports Sciences, Environmental protection, the Creative Arts and Modern Languages. A very big thank you to all the parents and speakers for helping to make Wednesday evening such a big success! We have welcomed over 120 top professionals including a large number of OL’s who have kindly given up their time to provide valuable guidance, advice and some outstanding networking opportunities to nearly 380 students, including more than 50 pupils from some of our partner schools.
