Boy choristers sing in St Mark's, Venice

Sunday 19 July 2009 - the boy choristers, directed by Richard Moorhouse, sang Mass in St Mark's Basilica, Venice, this morning. Four motets included Marcus Durufle's Ubi Caritas and Bairstow's Let all mortal flesh keep silence. A packed congregation applauded the choir at the end of the Mass, and they were thanked by the clergy of the Basilica for bringing the beauty and dignity of the English choral tradition to Venice.

The choir sang in St Mark's as part of their tour of Northern Italy, which is also taking in Verona.

Any boy in Years 3 - 5 who would like a voice trial for the Llandaff Cathedral choir is asked to contact Mr Moorhouse via the Cathedral School Registrar.
