A wonderful celebration of Christian commitment took place on Tuesday in Llandaff Cathedral. 32 members of our school community took a step forward in faith as they received the Sacrament Confirmation by the Right Reverend June Osborne, the Bishop of Llandaff.
Due to the COVID restrictions, these pupils ranging from Year 8 to 10 had missed their annual opportunity to be Confirmed, so after several attempts to set a date, this was finally arranged and our pupils received this wonderful Sacrament.
The community members received thorough training and spiritual guidance from our School Chaplain when they were in Year 7. Congratulations go to Daniel T, Lily R, Catrin VO, Samuel B, Bryony B, Jack G, Oliver J, Imogen L, Joseph P, Harri T, Laurence U, Katyayani R, Anusuyaa R, Chloe McF, Chloe B, Neirin E, Charlie N, Matthew C, Adam S, Harry D, Ariella A, Jack G, Oliver M, Eric R, Seren O’N, Poppy R, Ruby G, James H, Benedict McC, James B, Emma B and Emilia M. May God bless you all as you follow Christ’s example and live in faith, hope and love.
Thank you to Mr Moore, Mr Shilson, the boy choristers and the back row for such beautiful music during the service. We also wish to extend our thanks to the Acting Dean, Chapter and staff of Llandaff Cathedral for their continued support and to Bishop June for conducting such an uplifting and encouraging service. We wish Bishop June well in her retirement in December and look forward to welcoming the new Dean to the Cathedral in November. A special thanks also goes to our school catering staff for providing us with a great curry to end the celebrations after the service. Our Communications Manager, Mrs Barry, took some beautiful photographs of the Bishop with our candidates after the service which have been sent to parents.
Our current Year 7 pupils are just beginning their Confirmation course, so we look forward to their service in the summer. If any member of our school community is interested in furthering their own commitment to God and would like to receive this wonderful Sacrament, then please do not hesitate in contacting our School Chaplain. Father Wayne, a very proud School Chaplain
