Year 4 enjoyed an unforgettable visit from Dr Horleston, an expert in earthquakes and volcanoes, who brought their Rumbling Romans topic to life in a truly engaging way.
Dr Horleston’s interactive presentation allowed the pupils to experience the science behind natural disasters, as they explored the causes of earthquakes and created their own 'earthquakes' with a real seismometer, before moving on to volcanoes. They were particularly excited to witness some 'eruptions' using carbonated drinks and mentos.
The visit sparked curiosity and enthusiasm, offering a perfect start to this term's topic. A huge thank you to Dr Horleston for such an inspiring day.
