Pupils in Year 8 and 9 were rewarded for their hard work this week when they were presented with their Headmaster's Awards.
Designed to encourage pupils to become more engaged in co-curricular activities both within school and their local communities, the Headmaster's Award aims to help pupils develop a wide range of life skills, as well as discovering new interests whilst improving existing ones.
The event also showcased the range, variety and quality of activities that the pupils have undertaken over the past twelve months to achieve their Bronze and Silver awards.
In front of an audience of their peers, parents and staff, 16 pupils gave presentations on subjects ranging from explaining how the Space Shuttle flies to how much fun was had on the Year 7 Bonding Trip. They demonstrated mastery of technique when they showed us how to throw an opponent in Judo and performed Rachmaninoff with precision and huge intensity of emotion.
Mr Dave Roberts, Headmaster's Award Co-ordinator said: "The confidence and professionalism with which the pupils performed impressed us all. The evening clearly demonstrated that there really is no limit to what our young pupils can achieve when provided with the opportunity to extend themselves."
